| The front of the sake shop The round ball is made of Japanese cedar. The sake shop used to hung the fresh green cedar ball when their sake is ready. The customers can tell how mature the sake is by looking at the color of the cedar ball. Now this has become a decoration of the shop front for nostalgic feeling. I love the idea and the thing like this that makes sense, is useful and is beautiful in sight at the same time. Are we losing this sensitivity in this modern world? I guess people can check almost everything by i Phone??? I have a mixed feeling about this. 酒屋の軒先の杉玉 昔は新酒ができたら緑の杉玉を吊るして知らせたらしい。 この色の変化で新酒の熟成具合がわかるという役割もあったと。 そういう考え、そしてこの杉玉自体、しぶーい！ そういうものをもっと大事にして後世に伝えていかなきゃ。 今は何でも携帯電話で情報が得られるから、 変化する色を見てものを判断するなんていう感覚なくなりつつあるのかなあ。 なんでもデジタル表示の時代かー。 今はこの杉玉、この津山城下町を含め、 昔の町並み保存や町おこしをして観光地化された所 なんかじゃないと見られなくなった。 |

There are only few stores left that makes this traditional paper in Yokono, but I hope this goes on and on. 岡山県津山市横野に伝わる横野和紙が買える店 横野和紙自体作っている店が数件と聞いたのが何年も前。 懐紙はいつもここのかわいいのを買っているし、 それ以外にも素敵過ぎて使えない和紙製品がたくさん。 こんなすばらしい日本の伝統を守っていっている人たち、 どんどん減っているらしいが、どうにかがんばって続いてほしい。 本当にかわいいものたくさんあるんだよ。 |
